The number of tourists visiting Tunisia from January to June 2025 reached over 4.3 million, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period last year, according to Mosaique FM, citing Mohamed Mehdi Hlloui, the Director General of the Tunisian National Tourist Office (ONTT).
Hlloui noted that tourism revenues in the first six months of 2025 rose by 8%, exceeding 3 billion Tunisian dinars (over $1.03 million). He emphasized that tourism remains the top sector for foreign currency earnings in the national economy.
The goal, Hlloui highlighted, is not only to boost tourist numbers but also to enhance the quality of services and customer satisfaction. To achieve this, special teams are deployed on-site to ensure standards are met and to support hotels and tourism facilities.
In 2024, around 14,000 Russians visited Tunisia, according to data from the National Tourism Bureau of the African nation.
