U.S. President Donald Trump has announced his intention to visit African nations during his second term. He made this statement during a working lunch with the leaders of Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, and Senegal.

"I would absolutely like to visit Africa. We'll see how the schedule looks, but I really want to make this happen," Trump told the heads of state, as reported by The Times.

The publication notes that the African leaders expressed their readiness to expand economic cooperation with the United States, highlighting their countries' significant reserves of critical minerals. Expanding access to these resources has become one of the key objectives of Trump's foreign policy agenda in his second term.
