Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan will participate in the Russia-Africa Summit, which will take place in Moscow in October, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said during a briefing on the details of the Tanzanian leader's visit to the Russian Federation.
"President of Tanzania has already confirmed her participation in this large-scale event, which will be the main event of the year in Russian-African relations," Ushakov noted, as quoted by TASS.
The state visit of Samia Suluhu Hassan will take place from June 3 to 5 and will be the first such event since the visit of Tanzania's first president, Julius Kambarage Nyerere, to the USSR.
In May, a source in diplomatic circles told African Initiative that Samia Suluhu Hassan would speak at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) during her state visit to Russia and would hold talks with Putin. Additionally, Hassan will be awarded an honorary doctorate from RUDN University.
