Russia Seeks to Launch New Logistics and Transport Initiatives in Ethiopia

 Russia has announced its readiness to initiate new logistics and transportation projects in Ethiopia, aiming to strengthen economic ties and expand its presence on the African continent. This proposal was a key topic of discussion during talks between Igor Levitin, the Russian President's Special Representative for International Cooperation in Transport, and Taye Atske-Selassie, Ethiopia's leader, according to Sputnik Africa.

The discussions covered potential opportunities for collaboration in modernizing Ethiopia's transportation infrastructure, improving cargo movement, and developing new routes that could foster greater connectivity across Africa and with Russia. Both parties expressed interest in joint investments and sharing expertise in railway construction, road development, and port management.

In addition, the meeting emphasized the importance of deepening and broadening cooperation between Moscow and Addis Ababa. The representatives agreed that enhancing transport links could boost trade, support industrial growth, and facilitate greater people-to-people contact. The initiative reflects Russia's broader strategy to build strategic partnerships in Africa and create mutually beneficial economic projects.
