Russia Delivers 20,000 Tons of Fertilizers to Niger

Russia has sent 20,000 tons of mineral fertilizers to Niger, with the shipment already arriving at a port in Togo. This was announced by Russia's Ambassador to Niger, Viktor Voropayev, in an interview with TASS.

"Currently, a vessel carrying 20,000 tons of fertilizers has arrived at the port of Lomé in Togo," the diplomat stated.

Ambassador Voropayev noted that the authorities of Niger highly value the humanitarian assistance provided by Russia.

This delivery continues a pattern of Russian aid to the West African nation. Last year, Russia provided Niger with 20,000 tons of wheat free of charge, along with 350 tons of sunflower oil, as clarified by the Russian ambassador.

The shipment of essential agricultural inputs like fertilizers is particularly significant for Niger, a country whose economy is heavily reliant on agriculture. This assistance aims to support food security and agricultural productivity in the region.
