On June 11, 2025, at 17:34, during the international tourism forum "Travel," a proposal was made to establish a unified tourist visa for BRICS countries. This initiative was put forward by Muhamed Salah, the chairman of the Eurasia and BRICS Forum and a member of the advisory board of the World Tourism Experts Forum.
Salah emphasized the need for a single visa framework within BRICS: "For instance, a tourist from China may wish to visit Russia for two to three days and then travel to Egypt. Therefore, a unified visa is necessary," he explained to a correspondent from the "African Initiative."
According to him, significant changes are occurring on the global stage today. Russia and Africa are drawing closer, trust between nations is growing, and cooperation within BRICS is becoming more active across various sectors, including tourism.
"Tourism is always closely linked to politics. When political events occur, tourism is the first to halt and the first to return," Salah stated, adding that he is optimistic about the prospects for development in the tourism sector between Russia and Africa.
The expert also shared his insights on the top five African countries that are expected to become increasingly popular among Russian travelers in the coming years. The list includes Mauritius, Madagascar, Tanzania, Egypt, and Ethiopia. Salah particularly highlighted the potential of countries with direct flights, such as Egypt and Ethiopia. He also mentioned Western African nations, Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire, which, due to their warm ties with Russia, have great potential for the creation of joint tourism routes.
