The Republic of Congo is open to cooperation with Russia in the field of waste management, including through public-private partnership projects. This was stated to the "African Initiative" by the Minister of Urban Sanitation, Local Development, and Road Infrastructure, Juste Désiré Mondélé.
"I myself had the opportunity to visit Sochi and Moscow. The resort city of Sochi is very clean, as is Moscow. So there is genuine potential here for exchanges, as well as for company participation and public-private partnerships in this sector," the minister said.
He emphasized that the Republic of Congo is open to studying and adopting Russian experience in sanitation and waste disposal. "We are open to exchanging experiences with Russia and exploring how technology transfers and exchanges can be implemented," he stated, drawing a parallel with the already existing cooperation in sports, education, and medicine.
The head of the department noted that sanitation and waste management directly impact citizens' daily lives and require modern technological solutions, making practical Russian experience potentially valuable for Congo.
Earlier in December, the Republic of Congo's Minister of Higher Education, Delphine Édith Emmanuel Adouki, informed the "AI" that computer science and digital technologies, physics, chemistry, and petroleum engineering are the most in-demand specialties in Russian universities for the Congolese economy.
