The government of Equatorial Guinea has signed an agreement with the Canadian company International Expert Geophysics to provide technical services for airborne geophysical surveys. This was announced by the office of the country's Vice President.

The agreement was signed by Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mining Development, Antonio Oburu Ondo, and a representative of Expert Geophysics, Robert Wilson, in Malabo. The signing ceremony was attended by Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue and other high-ranking officials.

The Vice President noted that the last time such surveys were conducted in the country was in 2012. Since then, technologies have advanced significantly, enabling more accurate data collection, which motivated the decision to carry out new surveys.

International Expert Geophysics has offices in Canada, Australia, India, Brazil, and South Africa, and implements airborne geophysical projects worldwide.

Previously, the government of Equatorial Guinea announced plans to expand geological surveys to obtain more precise data on the country's mineral resources. The initiative aims to boost mining activities and diversify partnerships with potential foreign investors in the mining sector.
