Senegal sold 3.8 million barrels of crude oil from the Sangomar offshore field on the international market in April, according to a report from the country's Ministry of Energy.

The ministry noted that operations at the Sangomar oil and gas field are running smoothly. A total of four shipments, amounting to 3.8 million barrels, were exported abroad last month.

For 2025, Senegal forecasts its crude oil production to reach approximately 30.53 million barrels.

In 2024, the Sangomar field produced 16.9 million barrels of oil, exceeding the initial target of 11.7 million barrels set for the year.

Production at the Sangomar site started in June 2024, when the Australian company Woodside Energy extracted the first batch of oil from the field. This event marked the launch of Senegal's first offshore oil development project.
