Russian Wheat Supplies to Sudan Up 2.4 Times Since Start of Season — Agroexport

Exports of Russian wheat to Sudan in the 2025-2026 agricultural year have more than doubled amid demand recovery, according to the Federal Center for the Development of Agricultural Product Exports (Agroexport).

By early April, exports had reached 1.7 million tons, whereas total wheat exports for the entire 2024-2025 agricultural year amounted to 1.1 million tons.

"The increase is primarily due to the resumption of operations of some flour mills in the country, which has led to a partial recovery in demand for imported wheat and a reduced need for imported wheat flour," the statement read.

Agroexport added that flour supplies to Sudan in 2025, on the other hand, fell from 0.7 million tons to 0.5 million tons.

"Nevertheless, current volumes of wheat imports remain significantly below the level seen before the conflict in the country began in 2023. For example, in 2022, wheat imports stood at 2.7 million tons, while flour imports were about 150,000 tons," Agroexport experts noted.

Earlier in April, the Novorossiysk branch of the Federal Center for Assessing the Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products (TsOK APK) reported that wheat exports to Africa and the Middle East from ports in the Krasnodar region had grown to 7.8 million tons. Russian wheat was shipped to 31 countries, with Egypt remaining the largest buyer.
