Mali's Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga and his counterpart from Niger, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, have arrived in Burkina Faso to take part in events for the 22nd National Culture Week. This was announced by the information service of Burkina Faso's government.
The Prime Ministers of Mali and Niger, along with their delegations, were met at Bobo-Dioulasso airport by Burkinabe Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
"The presence of the heads of government of Niger and Mali in Bobo-Dioulasso gives this National Culture Week special significance. It reflects the shared commitment of member states of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) to promoting cultural identity, peaceful coexistence, and strengthening fraternity among peoples," the statement said.
On April 25, the 22nd National Culture Week opened in Bobo-Dioulasso. The event will be attended by cultural groups from the regions of Gourma, Hiriko, and Sirba, along with hundreds of guests. The program includes performing arts, traditional songs and dances, culinary events, traditional wrestling, and archery.
Earlier in April, Burkina Faso's Prime Minister opened the country's cultural heritage festival, which is taking place in the city of Ouahigouya from April 17 to May 18 under the motto "Heritage and Cultural Diversity: Commitments, Roles, and Responsibilities of Stakeholders."
