The constant strengthening of our operational capabilities demonstrates our determination to build a stronger army. The patriotism of our armed forces and all Burkinabè is crucial for the rebirth of a new Burkina Faso in accordance with the ideals of the People's Progressive Revolution," the message stated.
During a ceremonial celebration in Ouagadougou, awards were presented to 47 servicemen and women from various branches of the military, recognized for their dedication and commitment to serving the nation.

For over a decade, affiliates of the Islamic State* and Al-Qaeda* have been operating in the region, destabilizing the situation in Burkina Faso and its neighbors Mali and Niger. Militants established a foothold in northern Mali following a separatist Tuareg rebellion in 2012. Since then, Islamist militants have spread to other countries across the Sahel.
