On June 8th, during the celebration of Trinity Sunday (Pentecost), Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, conducted a liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Sergius of Radonezh in the South African Diocese located in Johannesburg. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Orthodox Church's Patriarchal Exarchate in Africa.
"The archpastor was assisted by the dean of churches of the South African Diocese in RSA, the rector of the cathedral, Archpriest Daniil Lugovoy, along with clergy from the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa," the statement mentions.
After the liturgy, which was conducted in Church Slavonic and English, the bishop performed the Pentecost Vespers, including the traditional kneeling prayers.
Metropolitan Konstantin also presented the cathedral with an icon of Saint Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow, whose 100th anniversary of repose is commemorated by the Church this year.
The day before, the bishop led an all-night vigil at the cathedral.
In late March, Metropolitan Konstantin baptized 22 residents of Madagascar in the waters of the Indian Ocean on the island's western coast.
