Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will make an official visit to Algeria on December 2-3. This is the first high-level visit in the history of relations between the two countries, according to the administration of the head of state.
"The head of the Belarusian state, Alexander Lukashenko, and the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, will hold talks in both restricted and expanded formats, with a focus on deepening trade and economic cooperation and implementing mutually beneficial bilateral projects," stated the press service of the Belarusian Presidential Administration.
It is planned to discuss prospects for equipment supplies and cooperation, interaction in the agro-industrial complex, healthcare, education, and the humanitarian sphere in general.
Lukashenko's visit was preceded by an extensive business program—a joint business forum was held in Algeria, along with negotiations at the ministerial level and meetings between enterprise and company leaders.
On November 1, the President of Belarus congratulated Tebboune on the national holiday—Revolution Day—and also mentioned that he would soon visit Algeria at the invitation of the republic's leader.
At the end of October, Lukashenko held a meeting on developing cooperation with African countries, during which he instructed the government to expand the export of Belarusian products to the continent and occupy available niches in African markets.
