Kenyan Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi may visit Russia in the coming weeks. This was stated by Korir Sing'oei, Principal Secretary of the State Department for Foreign Affairs at Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the inaugural ceremony of the African Center for Russian Studies at the University of Nairobi.
"We are working together with the Russian ambassador to organize Mudavadi's visit in the coming weeks. This visit will be aimed at strengthening our existing bilateral relations," Sing'oei said, as reported by TASS.
According to him, relations between Russia and Africa have historically been built on deep solidarity formed during the continent's struggle for self-determination.
"At a pivotal moment when many African countries were emerging from colonial rule and charting their development path, the former Soviet Union provided them with important support through education, technical training, and political cooperation," the Principal Secretary emphasized.
In October of last year, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Yevgeny Primakov, met with Kenyan Ambassador to Russia Matuki Peter Mutuku, during which the sides discussed expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the possibility of opening a Russian House in the African country.
