Hundreds Injured in Fuel Depot Fire in Chad

Several hundred people have been injured in a major fire that broke out at a fuel depot in the city of Abéché, Chad, according to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization.

The fire occurred near the Higher Institute of Science and Technology of Abéché. Material damage is estimated at over 600 million CFA francs (approximately $1 million).

According to the local publication Agence Tchadienne de Presse, citing health official Abdoulmahmoud Chiné, a total of 206 people were injured, with 53 patients remaining under medical observation.

In early April, eight people died and 17 were injured in a fire at a factory in Cairo.
