A convoy of several dozen fuel tankers, escorted by the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), has arrived in Bamako. The fuel will be used to supply public transportation and deliver to regions severely affected by fuel shortages, according to a statement from the Malian government's press service.

The tankers were received by staff of the Customs Directorate for Petroleum Products, which has been tasked with preparing all necessary documentation for fuel distribution and dispatching the tankers to remote regions of Mali.

"On the night of October 30, a large convoy of several dozen tanker trucks arrived in Bamako under military escort by FAMa. Priority for fuel supplies is given to public transport to ensure population mobility, as well as to emergency service vehicles for humanitarian reasons. Special attention is also being paid to certain regions, particularly Ségou, Mopti, and Koutiala," the statement read.

The press service also confirmed that the government has already developed a plan for distributing fuel to gas stations to eliminate the shortage as quickly as possible.
