India and Togo plan to enhance their cooperation through cultural exchanges involving artists from both nations. This initiative is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, according to the portal Togo First.
As stated by the Indian Ambassador to Togo, Shri Syed Razi, the parties intend to add a "new dimension" to their relationship by incorporating cultural interaction.
"Artists and cultural figures from India will come to see what is happening in Togo, and vice versa. This will foster long-term cultural cooperation," the diplomat remarked at the third Indian Festival held in Lomé on October 12.
He mentioned that future projects will include exchange programs and residencies for creative professionals. Razi emphasized that both India and Togo possess rich cultural heritages, and their "closeness in diversity" could turn culture into a source of economic development for the two countries.
Representatives from the cultural ministries of India and Togo are expected to meet in the near future to discuss funding mechanisms for the initiatives and to clarify the formats of cooperation.
