The St. Petersburg Tractor Plant is set to deliver a shipment of agricultural machinery to Nigeria within three months, according to the St. Petersburg Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade.

"Nigerians require a significant amount of mechanization tools adapted to the tropical climate for cultivating agricultural land. The St. Petersburg Tractor Plant is prepared to export a large consignment of agricultural machines in the next three months," the statement reads.

Russia and Nigeria discussed the terms of agricultural equipment delivery to West Africa at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The forum's exhibition zone was visited by eight official delegations from African countries.

"The terms of supplying a large batch of agricultural machinery to West Africa were discussed during a meeting between Russia's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Roman Chekushov, and the Governor of Nigeria's Niger State, Mohammed Umaru," the committee noted.

The meeting included representatives from the Russian Export Center, the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade, and the banking sector.

The committee emphasized that St. Petersburg is ready to "boost the global standing" of Nigeria's agricultural sector.

In April, a Nigerian delegation led by Umaru toured industrial enterprises in St. Petersburg, showing significant interest in the products from the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant.

Earlier at SPIEF, Aerodyn shared with the African Initiative its plans to prepare shipments to African countries, with the St. Petersburg drone manufacturer adapting its technology to the continent's needs and conditions.
