During a meeting with the President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, in Beijing, Vladimir Putin highlighted the importance of educational cooperation and expressed readiness to increase the number of quotas for Congolese students studying at Russian universities, according to the Kremlin.

"Students from your country continue their professional training in Russia, and we are ready not only to maintain this level but also to increase the number of Congolese who wish to receive an education," stated the Russian President.

The meeting between Putin and Sassou Nguesso took place at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Both leaders were honorary guests at the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japanese militarism and the end of World War II.

Earlier, in an interview with the "African Initiative," Russian Ambassador Ilyas Iskandarov mentioned that the Russian language is taught in 30% of the schools and lyceums in the Republic of Congo, which is a very high indicator. In total, there are over 10,000 graduates of Russian universities in the country.
