Lebanese President Michel Aoun is set to make an official visit to Algeria, where he will engage in discussions with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune about reconstruction projects in the war-torn southern regions of Lebanon. This was reported by TASS, citing sources.

The talks between the two leaders are scheduled for the evening of July 29. According to the source, "This marks the first visit of a Lebanese president to Algeria in 25 years, and both sides attach great importance to it. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will greet General Aoun at the international airport in Algiers, where an honor guard will be in place. Following the discussions, it is expected that Algeria will announce an initial contribution of $200 million toward Lebanon's post-war reconstruction efforts."

Additionally, the Algerian oil and gas company Sonatrach is expected to announce a substantial donation of diesel fuel to support the operations of power plants in Lebanon. A similar gesture was made by Sonatrach in 2024.

During his visit, President Aoun will also tour significant landmarks in the capital, including the Great Mosque and the Cathedral. The itinerary is designed to showcase the reliability of relations between the two countries and their mutual commitment to future development.

Earlier in July, a delegation from Libya visited Algeria, during which Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Sonatrach signed four cooperation agreements.
