Burkina Faso's Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo has presented the manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution, the prime minister's office announced.
The presentation of the manifesto and the opening of an exhibition showcasing the key initiatives of the country's transitional president, Ibrahim Traoré, took place at the cultural center in Bobo-Dioulasso as part of the 22nd National Culture Week. The document provides an analysis of the current situation in the country as well as its development prospects.
"The manifesto, signed by Ibrahim Traoré, consists of 52 pages and is structured around six main themes. According to the head of the president's administration ... these themes include national defense, inclusive socio-economic progress, cultural rearmament, diplomacy, governance, and social issues," the statement said.
It was noted that to ensure broad dissemination of the document's content, translations of the manifesto are planned into national languages, as well as English.
The ceremony was attended by Mali's Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga, his Nigerien counterpart Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, as well as institution heads, members of the governments of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, regional authorities, and other guests.
Earlier in April, Traoré, during a flag-raising ceremony on the first anniversary of the proclamation of the progressive revolution, announced the publication of the manifesto. The leader of Burkina Faso stated that the document was prepared to better equip the population with an understanding of the ideology of the Popular Progressive Revolution.
In March, Burkina Faso's parliament unanimously adopted the Charter of the Revolution, which became the country's fundamental law, replacing the Transitional Charter of 2022.
