Uganda will consider the possibility of lifting visa requirements for tourists from Russia in the future. This was stated to TASS by John Leonard Mugerwa, head of the Department of International Law and Social Affairs at Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We believe that in the future, we will find ways to simplify visa procedures for Russians coming to Uganda. Currently, visas are processed online and issued within two days, but we will consider the possibility of waiving visas for tourists in the future," said Mugerwa.
In November, the Russian government approved a draft intergovernmental agreement with Uganda on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic or service passports.
According to its provisions, Russia and Uganda will allow their citizens who are holders of diplomatic and service passports to enter and stay in the territory of the other country without a visa for up to 90 days.
