Tanzania's general elections were conducted "with maximum transparency and in accordance with democratic principles," according to a statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the East African nation, Mahmoud Tabitha Kombo.

"The citizens of Tanzania peacefully exercised their constitutional right by voting in the elections. On November 1, 2025, the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the voting results, according to which [incumbent President] Samia Suluhu Hassan achieved a convincing victory," the document states, as reported by TASS.

Kombo noted that towards the end of the voting process, isolated incidents related to breaches of law and order occurred in some parts of the country. However, he stated that law enforcement agencies "acted swiftly, professionally, and decisively" to ensure that "isolated incidents did not escalate into larger-scale unrest."

On October 29, incumbent Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan won the presidential election, receiving 97.66% of the votes. She ran for office representing the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. The elections were accompanied by protests that escalated into riots. Participants set fire to police stations and blocked roads.

Samia Suluhu Hassan condemned the post-election protests, describing the actions as "unpatriotic."
