On July 8, the Russian Embassy in Burkina Faso donated 1,000 seedlings to 12 districts of the Ouagadougou commune, as reported by a correspondent from "African Initiative."
According to Igor Martynov, the Russian ambassador in Burkina Faso, these seedlings were given to each of the 12 districts as part of the international "Garden of Memory" campaign. This tradition encourages people worldwide to plant trees in remembrance of those who have lost their lives, particularly in conflicts.
Zalissa Pare-Salambere, a representative of the authorities from the 12th district, expressed gratitude to the Russian ambassador on behalf of the Ouagadougou commune. "I assure you that the seedlings will be planted and receive protection and care," she stated.
During the ceremony, they jointly planted a tree in the "Park of Friendship between Russia and Burkina Faso," established in the 12th district through the efforts of the "African Initiative" association.
Previously, as part of the "Five Million Trees in 1 Hour" campaign, the Russian-Burkinabe association planted 300 trees in the same district.
