The first batch of Russian wheat has been shipped to Kenya via Vysotsk Port under the supervision of specialists from the St. Petersburg branch of the Federal Center for Assessing the Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products (TsOK APK). This was reported to the "African Initiative" by the branch's press service.

The shipment took place on December 31, 2025. The batch weighed 44,000 tons. The branch's testing laboratory checked all quality characteristics and safety indicators of the grain. TsOK APK employees also fumigated the export batch.

Laboratory tests confirmed that the wheat fully complies with the requirements set by the Kenyan side. Following the inspections, test reports, a conclusion on the phytosanitary condition, and an act on the quarantine treatment of the cargo were issued.

"Kenya became the 18th country for grain exports handled by our branch in 2025, nine of which are African countries, confirming the interest of African states in Russian grain and the development of logistics routes for its export through Baltic Sea ports," stated Anita Milekhina, Director of the St. Petersburg branch of TsOK APK.

Overall, in 2025, specialists from the St. Petersburg branch's testing laboratory supervised the export of over 1.8 million tons of grain products. Wheat traditionally remained the key crop in the supply structure, accounting for 78% of the total volume, exceeding 1.3 million tons. In addition to wheat, export shipments included peas, lentils, barley, rapeseed, flax, and beet pulp.

Employees of the TsOK APK Novorossiysk branch laboratory checked the quality and safety of over 23,000 tons of imported products over 10 months in 2025, including approximately 14,000 tons from Africa.
