Russia Interested in Entering African Markets — Reshetnikov

Russia is interested in entering African markets, as they are the fastest-growing in the world. This was stated by Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov to journalists on March 5.

"It is very important to be present in this market and to enter it now, because Africa in the coming decades is one of the fastest-growing markets on the planet. Yes, it is very diverse, ... but nevertheless, we need to work with [African countries]; it is a large potential market for consumption of our products. ... This is our strategic vector," TASS quoted Reshetnikov as saying.

According to TASS, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development also emphasized that priority areas for partnership with African countries include the agro-industrial complex, energy resources, and the use of Russian technologies.

In June 2025, Reshetnikov told an African Initiative correspondent that Russia and African countries continue to develop trade and economic relations, including the creation of intergovernmental commissions and a special fund for investments, as well as the opening of new logistics routes.
