An Il-76 aircraft from Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) has delivered approximately 25.5 tons of humanitarian aid to Djibouti, according to a statement from the ministry's press service.
"The special flight of the department delivered about 25.5 tons of humanitarian cargo to the Republic of Djibouti. Russian rescuers handed over food supplies and medical items to the local population," the statement said.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of the Russian government and in accordance with the directive of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
