Africa and Russia are working together to help ensure security and stability on other continents, according to Dmitry Birichevsky, Director of the Economic Cooperation Department of Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Birichevsky remarked, "We have a comprehensive approach with Africa; we aim to assist in ensuring security and stability in sometimes challenging regions on other continents," during an interview with Baltnews.
The Director of the Economic Cooperation Department also highlighted that both Russia and the African continent offer technological solutions, which will be under the ownership of the recipient countries themselves.
In September 2024, Birichevsky noted that Africa is increasingly attracting Russian companies. He mentioned a clear trend within Russian business to expand into the African market, focusing on both the distribution of raw materials and the implementation of value-added products.
