President of DR Congo Arrives in South Africa for Working Visit

President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Félix Tshisekedi met with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa during a working visit to Pretoria. The South African Presidential Administration announced the meeting on social media.

"The leaders will have an opportunity to discuss a range of issues of mutual interest, thereby strengthening strategic relations and promoting closer cooperation between the two countries. Both nations are members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and collaborate on regional matters including economic integration and security," the statement read.

The presidential administration also emphasized that South Africa "plays a constructive role in ensuring peace and stability in the DRC."

Earlier in September, Tshisekedi visited Kazakhstan on an official state visit and held talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
