A fashion show featuring contemporary clothing designers who use cultural motifs in their work has taken place in Mali's capital, Bamako, a correspondent for African Initiative reports.
"We organized the fourth event under the motto Faso Élégance Chic (Elegance and Chic — AI) within the framework of the Year of Education and Culture. The goal of this event is to popularize Mali's cultural heritage through the talent and creativity of young designers who strive to harmoniously combine tradition and modernity," said show organizer Zeinab Dicko.
The fashion show was held with the support of Mali's Minister of Handicrafts, Culture, Hospitality and Tourism, Mamou Daffé, as well as well-known Malian philanthropist Fatoumata Batouli Niané.
In August, "Afrofest-2026" took place in Moscow, which included a showcase of Nigerian fashion.
