Mali's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdoulaye Diop, held a working meeting with Chinese Ambassador Li Xiang. The parties discussed the implementation of bilateral projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors, according to the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Diop and his guest emphasized the need for careful implementation of priority projects, including projects in solar energy, infrastructure and transportation development, agricultural mechanization, and the construction of healthcare facilities," the Ministry's statement reads.
The minister and the Chinese diplomat also positively assessed the strategic level of partnership between Mali and China and reaffirmed their readiness to regularly monitor ongoing projects to expedite the achievement of their objectives.
Earlier in January, Mali's transitional President Assimi Goïta received the credentials of the new Chinese Ambassador. At that time, Li Xiang also mentioned strengthening cooperation between the two countries in energy, healthcare, and education.
