Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov identified nuclear energy as a promising area of cooperation with Ghana following talks with his Ghanaian counterpart Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on August 17.
"Among the promising areas for our efforts, including in the context of preparations for the intergovernmental commission meeting, we mentioned energy, including nuclear energy. There are already specific developments in this area," Lavrov stated.
He also identified geological exploration, agriculture, fertilizer supplies, and information and communication technologies as promising areas.
During the talks, Lavrov announced that Ghana would soon complete the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation with Russia.
Ghana's Foreign Minister is on a working visit to Moscow from August 16 to 19. During the talks, Lavrov and Ablakwa also signed a visa-free agreement for diplomatic and service passport holders.
