The calendar for the 2025 presidential campaign in Ivory Coast has been announced. The first round will be held on 25 October, with a potential second round on 29 November, RFI reports.

Candidate registration and requirements
- Signature collection runs from 25 July to 26 August. Each candidate must secure endorsements from voters equal to at least 1% of the electorate, coming from at least half of the country's regions and from both Abidjan and Yamoussoukro constituencies.
- All candidacy documents, including a deposit of 50 million CFA francs (about €76,000), must be submitted to the electoral commission by 26 August.
- The Constitutional Council will publish the final list of qualified candidates on 10 September.

Campaign rules and media access
- The start date and duration of the official campaign period will be set by a decree of the Council of Ministers on the electoral commission's proposal.
- During the campaign each candidate will have equal access to state and private media.

Voting and results
- To win outright in the first round a candidate must obtain an absolute majority of votes.
- First-round results will be announced between 26 and 30 October.

Political context
- On 16 August, a mass rally in Abidjan protested the possible candidacy of incumbent President Alassane Ouattara for a fourth term.
- Opposition parties are also demanding that Tijani Tiamé, who was previously denied registration, be allowed to run.
