Egypt has welcomed approximately 12.8 million tourists between January and early September. By the end of the year, that number could grow to 20 million, APA News reports, citing a statement from the country's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy.
Fathy emphasized "the diversity of Egypt's tourism offering," which allows visitors to combine several types of recreation within a single visit, and noted growing interest from airlines in increasing the number of charter flights to Egyptian resorts.
The minister recalled that last year the country welcomed a record 19 million tourists — 21% more than in 2024.
