By the end of 2025, the volume of trade between China and African countries increased by 17.7% and reached $ 348.05 billion, while the growth of exports from China significantly outpaced the dynamics of imports from African countries. This is reported by TASS with reference to the General Customs Administration (GTU) of the People's Republic of China.
According to the Chinese customs agency, shipments of goods from China to African countries in 2025 increased by 25.8% to 225.03 billion dollars. Imports of products from African countries to China increased by 5.4% and amounted to 123.02 billion dollars.
On a monthly basis, China's trade with Africa increased by 4.6% in December compared with November, reaching $33.59 billion. In particular, exports of Chinese goods totaled $23.31 billion, which is 11.5% more than a month earlier, while imports from Africa decreased by 8.2% to $10.28 billion.
At the end of October 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the readiness of the Chinese authorities to completely abolish customs duties on all goods from African countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Beijing.
According to the GTU, in 2024, China's trade turnover with African countries increased by 4.8% and amounted to $ 295.56 billion. Exports from China then increased by 3.5% to $178.76 billion, while imports of African products increased by 6.9% to $116.8 billion.
