In Cape Town, South Africa, nearly 200 homes were evacuated after a wildfire broke out in Table Mountain National Park, according to local broadcaster SABC, citing the city's Disaster Risk Management Centre.

Sonika Lategan, spokesperson for the center, reported that residents are being accommodated with relatives or at a temporary shelter in Fish Hoek, where they are also receiving medical assistance. Authorities have urged everyone in the area to remain vigilant and follow safety instructions.

Jermaine Carelse, representative of Cape Town's Fire and Rescue Service, explained that the fire ignited on Friday, April 25. Conditions deteriorated on April 26 due to strong winds, allowing the blaze to quickly spread over several neighborhoods.

Additionally, Megan Taplin, manager of Table Mountain National Park, said that three helicopters have been deployed to support fire crews working on the ground.
