Burkinabe athlete Marthe Koala won the long jump competition at a prestigious event in the Netherlands with a result of 6.77 meters, the local portal Burkina24 reports.

At the competition held on June 21 in Hengelo, she outpaced Italy's Carissa Iapichino (6.73m) and France's Hilary Kpatcha (6.63m). It is noted that Koala had already achieved a similar result at a competition in Kenya in April.

Marthe Koala is a former African champion in the heptathlon and the current continental vice-champion in the long jump.

The Hengelo competition, also known as the FBK Games, is considered the premier athletics event in the Netherlands and ranks among the most prestigious competitions on the World Athletics Continental Tour. Each year, it brings together several Olympic, world, and European champions.

Earlier in June, Burkinabe athlete Ibrahim Idrissa Maiga took third place at the Grand Prix taekwondo event held in Rome.
