The Sarandi River, flowing through poverty-stricken and industrial areas, has become a source of concern due to its alarming transformation. These regions house several factories that operate hazardous waste incinerators, raising fears of possible contamination.
Local resident Maria Ducomls recounted waking up to an overpowering smell of smoke, and later witnessing the river turn "completely red, like a river of blood." This shocking sight has prompted authorities to take samples from the river to investigate the cause of this unsettling phenomenon and to assess any potential environmental and health risks.
